Kingdom Hearts 2
Sora is a normal fourteen year old boy, living on an island of solitude with his friends Riku and Kairi. That is, until he obtains the keyblade, then travels around alternate disney-worlds with his friends Donald & Goofy to seal the keyholes there, and to rescue his childhood friend, Kairi. And also, to learn more about the sinister plot Ansem has with the heartless along the way. In Kingdom Hearts 2, Sora awakes from his year long slumber and goes in search of Riku, who he had to leave in the world of darkness - and learn more about the Organization.
Friends In My Heart
I think this song has a similar tune to 'Dearly Beloved' if you listen closely, though it also bugs me as a song fit for the Lenne/Shuyin with Vegnagun scene in Final Fantasy X-2 (don't know why..). Anyway, this is a relatively melacholy piece with many instruments, and is played when Sora (or Roxas, effectively) cries when he has to leave the gang in Twilight Town, and also when Sora is reunited with Riku (and Kairi). And again when Sora/Kairi are reunited with their nobodies, Roxas and Namine, as a whole entity :) Probably somewhere else, too, but these stick in your mind :)
Why
Sora's reunion scene pulls at your heartstrings deeply; but for me, I found myself crying at the song too. Square's games have this effect on me - have a really sad scene, and some of the best music with it. I cry a lot in the English Version; but in the Japense version, I moped, again for the song (though also the seiyuu). Either way, this song is beautiful.
Wherever You Are
The part-title before this is 'I'll Be In Your Heart..' This is mainly pulling from the scene when Sora 'sees' Riku inside his mind. And again, relating to Kairi's heart being with Sora's - and, 'wherever' his friends are, they'll always be in his heart.
